Pediatric Eye Exams

Our doctors provide compassionate and quality eye care. Dr. Scriven can do routine or medical eye exams on all children over 2 years of age. Dr. Koederitz is trained to do exams from the premature infant to the adult. 

Pediatric Eye Surgery

Our pediatric ophthalmologist is highly skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of eye diseases that effect children. Dr. Koederitz performs eye muscle surgery, tear duct probing for infants with chronic tearing, laser procedures for premature infants that may become blind from ROP, dermoid cyst excisions and a variety of other procedures. 

Adult Strabismus Surgery

Dr. Koederitz is one of few that excels in the surgical management of adult strabismus. She takes the time to listen to each adult patient and determine the best surgical path to treat their eye muscle or double vision condition.

All Adult Strabismus patients must have a primary eye doctor and have their most recent eye exams faxed with the referral form. 

Dr. Scriven can do routine eye exams on children 2 years of age and older without a referral in the Lawrence or Topeka Office. Please call 785-856-7732 to schedule an appointment for your child. 

INSURANCES
We accept most insurances such as Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas, United HealthCare, Cigna, Aetna, Tricare, and Medicare. 

We are contracted with Kansas Medicaid Sunflower and UHC Community Plans but are NOT currently contracted with the new HealthyBlue Kansas Medicaid Managed Care program. We are working on establishing this relationship and hope to care for their patients soon.

Please contact your specific insurance company to verify that SPECS, Dr. Koederitz and/or Dr. Scriven is in your network before your appointment. 

    If you are an existing patient: Please use the patient portal for communication to the office, request appointments, and non urgent questions.
